Dance On D.C.

Max Blob's Bavarian Biergarten has been veering in and out of the consciousness of the local music scene for decades now. Known for its Polka dances in days gone by, Blob's has also seen bands like the Slickee Boys hired for summer parties, and all kinds of shenanigans. Situated on acres of land, the owners tried to sell the place a while back, but one bonus of a weak economy was no sale!

For now they are soldiering on- still a restaurant and beer hall, still hosting dances. Here's the scoop from local dance aficionado Ben Pagac:

"This Friday night's dance fuses two American genres in one evening. Louisiana Zydeco meets Texas style rockin' Honky-tonk when Curley Taylor and Zydeco Trouble team up with Arty Hill and the Long Gone Daddys!

Big Dance Floor / Good German Food / Plenty of Free Parking / $15 / Bucolic Setting / Kid Friendly / 8-Midnight/ Turbo-Air Schnapps Vault / Huge Beer Selection / Delightfully Dark Twisty Entrance Road / Cool Prohibition History / Watch Out for that Deer"

Thank you, Ben- and be sure to read Ben's piece on Blob's at Washington DC My Hometown.
